About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Powertrain Senior Design Engineer to join our team at Contechs, a leading Automotive, Design, Engineering, Technology and Innovation Recruitment Consultancy.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the detailed design and engineering of powertrain components and systems from concept to production. This will involve working with suppliers to ensure components and systems meet technical and package targets, and delivering detailed designs on time to predetermined quality, cost, and weight targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer powertrain components and systems from concept to production.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure components and systems meet technical and package targets.
  • Deliver detailed designs on time to predetermined quality, cost, and weight targets.
  • Support powertrain component and vehicle development activities, manufacture, and launch planning.
  • Understand and define package constraints for powertrain components.

Requirements

  • CATIA V5/V6 2D/3D skills with GD&T application experience.
  • High level of technical knowledge and experience of powertrain component and system design, packaging, engine test, and production.
  • Educated to degree level in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • Passion for high-performance powertrain engineering.
  • Adopts a creative and thoughtful approach to concept design and solving engineering problems with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent feasibility assessment skills, including design for manufacture.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a high level of self-motivation to deliver excellent results.
