Job Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our contracts by managing costs, negotiating valuations, and preparing payment certificates.

About the Role:

  • Prepare and agree valuations with clients, ensuring timely payments in accordance with subcontract agreements.
  • Pricing contract variations to minimize cost overruns.
  • Manage subcontractor payments, update spreadsheets, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in supply chain control, ensuring visibility of liabilities and minimizing risks.
  • Contribute to monthly financial reports, providing valuable insights into project performance.
  • Negotiate final accounts with main contractors, ensuring accurate settlements.
  • Forecast cash flow across all contracts to achieve company turnover targets.
  • Liaise with estimating, design, purchasing, and contracts teams to identify potential cost overspends and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Manager to provide cost control and reporting on individual contracts, as well as overall cost management of the CA Roofing Services division.
  • Supervise and train junior QS staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles.
  • Maintain accurate records, perform general administration tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Previous experience working for a specialist sub-contractor is essential, while cladding knowledge is highly desirable.
  • A proactive, flexible approach with excellent time management skills is vital in this dynamic role.
