The District Nurse Team Manager role at Whittington Health NHS Trust offers a unique blend of clinical leadership and community-focused nursing practice. The main responsibilities of this role include:
• Delivering high-quality nursing care to patients within the District Nursing Service
• Implementing and delivering district nursing services and emergency plans as required
• Contributing to the development of the nursing team and community health services
• Ensuring staff records are up-to-date and performing regular appraisals and professional development planning
• Monitoring clinical supervision and teaching and supervising the clinical practice of team members
• Identifying training needs of directly managed staff

The requirements for this role include:
• Registered Nurse (RGN) 1st Level Registration
• District Nursing specialist practitioner qualification
• Community Practitioner Prescriber
• Independent nurse prescriber or willingness to undertake course
• Advanced physical assessment course or willingness to undertake
• Evidence of recent training and development
• Up-to-date PREP portfolio
• Excellent numeracy skills, verbal and written communication, listening and liaison, clinical/research-based skills, IT skills, prioritising and organising workload, networking skills, understanding quality standards and audit, staff appraisal/supervision and development, public health awareness
• Clinical governance and clinical supervision, current issues affecting nursing practice, caseload/care management, knowledge of principles and application of continuing care, multidisciplinary approach and integrated working, understanding of and commitment to NMC Code of Conduct, leadership styles and skills, awareness of equal opportunities/equal access, understanding of primary health care, experience and understanding of teamwork, management of change, management of stress in self and others
