Job Title: SEND Team Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled SEND Team Lead to join our team at Baltimore Consulting Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a skilled team of SEND professionals to deliver high-quality support to children and young people with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the SEND Annual Review Team, ensuring effective coordination and delivery of the annual review process for EHCPs across the local authority.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory timelines, maintaining a high standard of record-keeping and reporting in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Oversee the quality assurance of annual review meetings, ensuring the voice of the child or young person and their family is central to decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, health professionals, and social care teams to ensure that EHCPs are kept up-to-date and reflect the current needs and aspirations of the child or young person.
  • Support schools and settings in preparing for and conducting high-quality annual reviews, offering guidance and training as needed.
  • Manage resources effectively, ensuring efficient allocation of staff and budget to meet the demands of the review process.
  • Monitor the impact of annual reviews on outcomes for children and young people, ensuring that the necessary adjustments to provision are made promptly.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislation relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Education system from 0 – 25 years.
  • Knowledge and understanding of recent developments in the field of SEN and Disabilities, and the education landscape and context.
  • Practical experience in a relevant field to include working with parents, families and education providers.
