Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join our team at Wings School Notts in Newark. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to make a positive impact on the lives of our students.

About the Role

The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing support to students with special educational needs. You will be responsible for assisting the teacher in delivering an engaging and inclusive curriculum, while also supporting students with additional needs to reach their full potential.

This role requires a high level of resilience, patience, and empathy. You will be working with students who have a range of complex needs, including autism, ADHD, and dyslexia/dyspraxia. As such, it is essential that you have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and are able to tailor your approach to meet the individual needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and activities to students with special educational needs
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with additional needs
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 3 months' experience working in an education setting with students with Special Educational Needs
  • The ability to tailor your approach to meet the individual needs of each child
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment
