About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Civil / Structural Engineer to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing engineering projects, including resource planning, programming, design reviews, and ensuring timely and budget-compliant deliverables.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage engineering projects, including resource planning, programming, design reviews, and ensuring timely and budget-compliant deliverables.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of Engineers and CAD Technicians, adhering to ISO9001, ISO45001, and ISO14001 management systems.
- Mentor and review the work of engineers and CAD technicians.
- Conduct conceptual and detailed design of construction methods and temporary structures to Eurocode standards.
- Perform structural analysis using software such as STAAD Pro and LUSAS.
- Prepare design calculations, sketches, and technical documentation, and oversee CAD teams in producing 3-D models and drawings.
- Prepare tender designs and estimates.
Requirements:
- Considerable post-graduation experience in analysis and design of structures, especially in steel.
- Proven experience in technical team leadership and management.
- Knowledge of temporary works and construction engineering practices, particularly heavy lifting equipment and techniques.
- Proficient knowledge of Eurocodes for design.
- Excellent problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
