Lead Youth Support Professional

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team as a Lead Youth Support Worker. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people, providing guidance, support, and empowerment to enable them to reach their full potential.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and directing the day-to-day operational management of the youth support service, ensuring that available resources are utilized effectively to deliver high-quality support. They will operate with clear and consistent approaches, promoting the welfare, safety, personal development, and well-being of young people receiving support at the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding Young People: The ability to safeguard young people and make necessary referrals in line with local safeguarding procedures is essential.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Working closely with the service development team, participating in the selection and compatibility of potential new residents, their assessment, and transition into the service if appropriate.
  • Health and Safety: Knowledge and ability to monitor and adhere to Health & Safety legislation and good practice.
  • Needs Assessment and Support Planning: Skills necessary to undertake the management of assessing young people's needs and developing individual support plans from the information.
  • Staff Development and Supervision: Ability to support and develop staff, carrying out staff supervision and appraisal.
  • Qualifications and Experience: Level 5 qualification essential or commitment to complete within 2 years. Level 3 CCYP and relevant experience considered in exceptional circumstances.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends on a rota basis and sometimes short notice changes in shifts.
