MEP Cost Planner Job Description

We're seeking a skilled MEP Cost Planner to join our Pre-Construction team at Kier Group. As an MEP Cost Planner, you'll play a crucial role in providing cost planning expertise and commercial advice on projects with a wide range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop cost plans with a high degree of commercial acumen, ensuring accurate and reliable estimates.
  • Attend client-facing meetings to articulate cost plan details clearly to clients and design teams.
  • Liaise with design consultants to advise on the commercial effects of design proposals and provide affordability advice.
  • Value manage throughout the procurement process, identifying key risks and opportunities, and implementing Value Engineering principles to investigate alternatives and associated costs.
Requirements:
  • Successful delivery of cost plans on a wide range of tenders.
  • Experience with various construction methods, procurement routes, and delivery models.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to accurately understand the client brief and identify opportunities to add value.
