About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dispute Resolution Solicitor to join our Group legal team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist advice and dealing with claims against the Group in the area of housing disrepair litigation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide specialist advice and guidance on housing disrepair litigation matters, demonstrating expertise and judgment in complex cases.
  2. Review and develop the Group's legal approach to dealing with disrepair, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  3. Reduce external legal spend on housing disrepair litigation by effectively managing claims and negotiating commercial settlements with customers' solicitors.
  4. Provide regular feedback to internal stakeholders on the costs and time required to settle litigation, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  5. Simplify complex legal materials and issues for colleagues, ensuring they have a clear understanding of the legal framework and their roles within it.
  6. Review, prepare, and draft a range of documents, including standard correspondence, operational policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with external and internal standards.
  7. Train and develop the skills of colleagues working with disrepair, providing support and guidance to other parts of the business as needed.
  8. Handle day-to-day legal responsibilities across all businesses and departments, working collaboratively with the wider legal team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive in England and Wales with 4 years PQE experience in housing disrepair litigation. You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
