Role Overview
Bournes is seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Driver to join our team. As a Removals Team Member, you will be responsible for driving our vehicles and supporting our crew with removals duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles to designated addresses and support the crew with removals duties, including packing, loading, and unloading.
- Be physically fit to pack, carry, load/unload the vehicle, and dismantle/reassemble furniture.
- Work unsocial hours, including nights away, and hold a valid passport for European moves.
- Behave professionally, communicate effectively, and maintain regular contact with the office.
- Ensure all removals paperwork is completed correctly and submitted on time.
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and trailer, adhering to safe working practices and reporting defects.
- Present Tachograph cards for downloading and report accidents/incidents to the Transport Manager.
Driving Requirements
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
- Safely secure loads and prevent waste/debris from falling from the vehicle/trailer.
- Load/unload vehicles, adhering to safe working practices, and complete risk assessments.
- Fuel vehicles, maintain cleanliness, and ensure trailers are safe and serviceable.
- Present Tachograph cards for downloading and report accidents/incidents.
