Are you a skilled hydrologist and hydraulic modeller with experience in leading teams on high-profile infrastructure projects? We are seeking an exceptional Principal Flood Modeller to join our dynamic team at LHR.

We offer a competitive salary package of £65,000-£80,000 per annum, including benefits such as 26 days holiday per year, rising to 31 days with loyalty days, plus bank holidays, hybrid working arrangements, and access to mentoring support from industry experts.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to lead our Flood Risk & Drainage team in delivering complex projects across the UK. You will be responsible for managing a team of modellers and flood risk engineers who produce Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) for development projects in the private sector and increasingly flood studies in the public sector.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulic modelling, and river engineering, with a strong background in leading bids in the private and ideally public sectors. You should have excellent knowledge of the planning system, including policy and guidance, and good financial control, project management, and communication skills in a client-facing role.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the Flood Risk & Drainage team in delivering high-profile infrastructure projects
  • Managing a team of modellers and flood risk engineers to produce FRAs and flood studies
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Producing and reviewing a wide range of FRAs and drainage strategies using MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage
  • Identifying and communicating flooding and drainage-related constraints and opportunities at development sites
Requirements
