As a Railway Maintenance Technician with Network Rail, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the rail network. Your responsibilities will include carrying out maintenance and faulting tasks, as well as developing your management skills by deputising for the Team Leader.
You will work outdoors in all weathers, supporting essential maintenance to keep the railway running safely and smoothly for passengers and freight users. Our Railway Maintenance Technicians come from a variety of different backgrounds, and we are focused on your transferrable skills and behaviours. If you can demonstrate that, then we will provide you with all the necessary training to have you working safely and competently out on the network.
As a Signalling and Telecoms Specialist, you will be responsible for working with equipment including signals that control when trains can run, level crossings, and points systems. With your willingness to learn, you will develop a huge range of technical skills across a range of manual, electrical and digital equipment.
Our Network Rail Technicians work outside in all conditions, at all times of the year, day or night. You could be involved in demanding manual work, often with the need to transport kit across tricky terrain. Being safety focused, respectful of rules and a team player will be critical as you will often be working next to moving trains travelling at high speed.
We are looking for a team player who can lead the team when asked by the Team Leader. You will use your skills to deliver work safely and will check the team has the right competencies to meet our strict safety standards. You will also be a role model for safe working behaviours and be confident to challenge any potential risks to safety, so that everyone gets home safe every day.
Today's Technicians can go onto become tomorrow's Team Leaders. Your commitment to self-development and continuous learning is hugely important in this role and we will provide you with all the necessary training to develop both technical and non-technical skills.
We are looking for someone who has experience of arranging and implementing safe systems of work, knowledge of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting and renewal techniques, and strong communication skills. You will also need to be willing and able to work shifts in all weathers and meet the required benchmark for application screening questions.
As a Railway Maintenance Technician, you will be working with a range of equipment including signals, level crossings, and points systems. You will need to be able to work safely and efficiently, and be able to communicate effectively with your team and other colleagues.
We are looking for someone who is a natural team player, able to lead the team when asked by the Team Leader. You will use your skills to deliver work safely and will check the team has the right competencies to meet our strict safety standards.
