Job Title: Senior Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse / Charge Nurse / ODP

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK, delivering care to over 1 million patients annually.

Main Duties:
  • Lead the Orthopaedic Team in the Barn Theatre setting, one of the state-of-the-art theatres in the UK.
  • Support Chase Farm Theatres, consisting of 8 theatres, with a focus on Orthopaedics.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and theatre efficiency.
Person Specification:
  • Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values.
  • Registered Nurse/ODP with a recognised Post Graduate Theatre Course (ENB176).
  • Mentorship Course (e.g. ENB 998, D32 D33) or demonstrated willingness to enrol.
  • Significant experience in Orthopaedic scrub and circulating practice (at Band 5 or above).
  • Experience in managing junior staff (HCA/ students) including appraisal, performance, absence, selection and recruitment.
Skills & Aptitudes:
  • Good written, numeracy & verbal communications skills.
  • Awareness of clinical issues within the theatre department.
  • Able to work as part of a team within set boundaries.
  • Able to prioritise workload.
  • Able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and manage difficult situations.
  • Positive and motivated with attention to detail.
