Technical Services Mechanical Engineer

Our client, an FPSO Operator in the North Sea, is seeking an experienced Senior Static Equipment Maintenance Technician to join their team on a 6-month contract basis. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to offshore assets, focusing on static mechanical equipment and systems.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing annual plans and budgets for mechanical maintenance activities and modifications.
- Reviewing and validating vendor reports to ensure corrective work orders are raised for follow-up work.
- Maintaining accurate records of flexible hose PSV registers and coordinating inspections, replacements, and recertification campaigns.
- Providing expert guidance on vendor/sub-contractor selection regarding scopes of work, budget, and potential issues.
- Conducting site visits to operational FPSOs at regular intervals and liaising with offshore management on discipline-related queries.
- Evaluating and making cost-effective and safe decisions regarding the repair, maintenance, and modifications of installation equipment.
A degree qualification in mechanical engineering and current/valid offshore certification are necessary prerequisites for this position. Previous experience in a similar role within the North Sea oil and gas industry is crucial. We estimate the salary for this position to be around £65,000-£85,000 per annum.
