Year 4 Teacher Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 4 teacher to join our team at an ambitious and exceptional primary school in Shinfield, Reading. The school is committed to developing well-rounded, confident pupils through a supportive pastoral environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Key Stage 2 and be able to promote teamwork, cultivate a conducive learning environment, and drive attainment. They will also be responsible for teaching the Key Stage 2 curriculum, focusing on individual learning targets, and encouraging strengths and improvement of weaknesses.

About the School:

The school is a two-form entry school located in a lovely residential area of Shinfield, Reading. It has a friendly environment that welcomes early career teachers (ECTs) with open arms. The school aspires to develop well-rounded, confident pupils through its supportive pastoral environment and easy commute to or within Shinfield, Reading via public transport.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach the Key Stage 2 curriculum to groups of children, focusing on individual learning targets and encouraging strengths and improvement of weaknesses.
  • Develop maths ability and introduce fractions, statistics, and geometry.
  • Help children develop their writing ability by creating plots, characters, and settings for stories.
  • Keep track of children's progress and occasionally report back to parents.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (Experienced teachers as well as ECTs are welcome to apply).
  • Experience teaching LKS2.
  • The confidence to hit the ground running, proactively lead a class, and manage behaviour in line with school behaviour policies.
