Job Summary

The Assistant Head of Security Operations at HMNB Devonport plays a critical role in ensuring the site's compliance with defence security policy. This challenging and rewarding position requires leadership and management skills to deliver a layered security system that meets regulatory requirements.

Reporting directly to the Head of Health & Safety, Security, and Assurance, the successful candidate will lead a team of security professionals in implementing security risk management processes to provide options for the Naval Base Commander.

The role involves communicating with a range of stakeholders, including military, MOD civilian, and contractor personnel, to ensure a coherent security culture programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of security professionals in delivering a layered security system

Working Arrangements

The role is based at HMNB Devonport, with regular travel across the Defence Nuclear Enterprise/UK. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the on-site Security Forces and lead regular Ops planning, Exercise planning, and conduct, Threat Vulnerability Assessments, and authoring of coherent Operating Procedures and Plans.
