About the Role

We are seeking a talented Communications Executive to join our busy and high-performing Communications Team at Swindon Borough Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in managing the internal communications needs linked to the delivery of a significant transformation programme that aims to maximize outcomes for residents and value for money.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective internal communications strategies to engage employees and stakeholders
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate communication activity across various channels, including media relations, social media, newsletters, website, intranet, and other digital platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment with Council priorities
  • Forge strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including employees, residents, and external partners
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications and public relations
Requirements
  • Fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act)
  • Excellent writing, project management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Passion for public service and commitment to the Council's vision and values
