About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Museum Coin Expert to lead our team in the Ashmolean Museum's Heberden Coin Room. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for driving the digitization of our Roman coin collection and overseeing the rehousing of our reserve collections.

You will use your research time to conduct world-class research in the area of Roman numismatics, publishing your findings in leading academic journals. Additionally, you will teach and supervise students at the University of Oxford, sharing your expertise with the next generation of scholars.

This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement new projects, leveraging your expertise to drive innovation and excellence in our field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the digitization of our Roman coin collection, working with our team to ensure high-quality results.
  • Oversee the rehousing of our reserve collections, ensuring their safekeeping and accessibility.
  • Conduct world-class research in Roman numismatics, publishing your findings in leading academic journals.
  • Teach and supervise students at the University of Oxford, sharing your expertise and mentoring the next generation of scholars.
