About Our Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Support Specialist to join our team in Chelmsford. This exciting opportunity allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families and children. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with children, parents, and carers to provide emotional and social support, connecting them to relevant resources and services.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to families, focusing on individual needs.
  • Focus on child development, parenting, and relationship-building.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including social services, health professionals, and schools, to ensure coordinated support.
  • Assist families in accessing community resources.
  • Offer guidance on parenting skills, child behaviour, and emotional well-being.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary, helping families navigate difficult situations.

Requirements

">
  • A minimum of 1 year UK experience working with children and families in a support role, ideally within a community or social care setting.
  • Must have an enhanced adult and child DBS that is registered on the update service or be willing to process a new one with Prospero.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel for home visits and community outreach.

Salary Details

This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development within our organisation.
