The Role

We are seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer - with Electrical Bias to join our team at our Ashby site. As a key member of our Engineering function, you will provide a comprehensive electrical, mechanical, and maintenance engineering service to sustain and improve production operating efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain production and ancillary equipment, property, and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure production plan requirements are met.
  • Create PPM schedules, maintain accurate maintenance records, and complete data entry records within specified timescales.
  • Act as host for contractors working on site, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and completed, and safe working practices are agreed prior to commencement of work.
  • Respond to requests from production and Maintenance Leads for engineering assistance, monitoring visual management boards to ensure priority items are dealt with.
  • Work with production teams to improve their capability and knowledge of equipment.
  • Identify problems, perform root cause analysis to stop repeat failures, and follow policies and procedures in conjunction with the food quality management system and retailer-specific technical standards.
  • Play an active part in food safety and health and safety, identifying hazards and risks, and ensuring all health and safety procedures and safe working practices are always followed.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience gained within a food manufacturing environment.
  • City & Guilds Level 3 or higher in electrical engineering. Ideally multi-skilled.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with logical problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiasm, commitment, and the drive to succeed.
