Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Development Control Specialist to join our team at W P Recruitment & HR Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pre-application highways advice, processing and assessing planning applications, and managing detailed records for all schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with local authorities, external organisations, developers, and the public to provide highways advice
  • Process and assess planning applications, including site visits and working to deadlines
  • Attend committee meetings and planning appeals
  • Manage Highway Agreement applications and detailed records
  • Conduct technical reviews and analysis of existing network capacity and safety
  • Assist in maintaining highway adoption, highways search, and street naming/numbering processes

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Highways or Planning Development Control/Design, including knowledge of the Highways Act and CDM legislation
  • Ability to work well as part of a team with high-level communication skills
  • Flexibility to work to deadlines and on own initiative
  • Full driver's license
