Job Title: Development Control Engineer

Job Summary:
W P Recruitment & HR Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Development Control Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with highways regulations and health and safety standards throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with local authorities, external organisations, and the public to provide pre-application highways advice.
  • Process and assess highways elements of planning applications, including site visits and working to deadlines.
  • Attend committee meetings and planning appeals.
  • Manage detailed records for all schemes, including legal and financial agreements.
  • Assist in maintaining highway adoption, highways search, and street naming/numbering processes.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in Highways or Planning Development Control/Design, including knowledge of the Highways Act and CDM legislation.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team with high-level communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Full driver's licence.

Salary: £42-44,000 per annum (may be flexible for the right candidate).
