IT Infrastructure Specialist

The Mercedes AMG-PETRONAS Formula One Team is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer for Performance Optimization. With an estimated annual salary of $150,000-$220,000, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to join a world-class organization and contribute to our mission of fighting for world championships each year.
About the JobWe are looking for a talented individual who can bring a wide range of experience and skills to the table, combining them with a high attention to detail, enthusiasm, and curiosity. As a DevOps Engineer for Performance Optimization, you will be responsible for working within a fast-paced and ever-changing digital environment, supporting and being involved in innovative solutions across a vast portfolio of technologies.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance business-wide, supporting a wide range of FOSS tools and becoming a go-to person and mentor for Linux, automation, and HPC topics across the wider IT team.
- Project leadership, management, planning, and development of multiple HPC environments, diagnosing, managing, and resolving system configuration on systems ensuring high availability.
- Maintain and support our monitoring and observability platforms, troubleshooting software/system issues on a wide range of HPC and infrastructure platforms.
- Maximize efficiency and performance of available resources, documenting methods and procedures along the way.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven Linux experience, degree-level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of DevOps methodology and tools (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab), automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef), and shell scripting.
- Strong networking skills (TCP/IP, Routing, DHCP, DNS) and ability to communicate clearly and take ownership of their work.
- A practical individual who is comfortable strategizing and dividing their time between project work, support, and maintenance, able to work both independently and collaboratively.
