About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about supporting children with complex educational, health, and care needs.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide personalized support to students with special needs within the classroom environment
  • To undertake training to support a range of medical needs as directed by nursing staff, including tasks such as gastrostomy support, epilepsy treatment, and airway management
  • To provide intimate care as required, including assistance with toileting and mobility
  • To encourage positive behavior, support emotional wellbeing, and ensure students' safety during activities

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with children with SEN is highly valued
  • Willingness to train in basic medical support skills specific to pupils' needs, provided under the supervision of nursing staff
  • Able to respond quickly to short-term bookings and manage varied assignments with ease
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting and mobility support
