About the Role

Glasgow Life is seeking a highly skilled Special Projects Officer (Exhibitions) to join our Museums team on a part-time, 28 hours per week, fixed-term contract for up to 3 years. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the transformational project of the People's Palace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison for design development, ensuring seamless collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Drive the design process, working closely with internal and external teams to deliver museum design development and delivery that reflects community engagement input.
  • Support project management, contributing to the management of external contractors and actively participating in project development.
  • Collaborate with in-house teams, external designers, and communities to promote accessible and inclusive design that aligns with project objectives.
  • Advocate for audience needs, ensuring that museum design processes and final outputs reflect the needs of diverse audiences.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working on design and build projects with community engagement.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience managing external contractors and contributing to project development.
  • Ability to work within a multi-discipline project team, prioritizing project objectives and driving decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering to diverse audiences, including senior management, project stakeholders, peers, and communities.
  • Ability to instruct designers, contractors, and other trades during the build phase of a project.
