Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Overhead Line Engineer to join our team in Swindon. As a key member of our OLE team, you will be responsible for delivering safe, economical, and quality projects for various clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake design duties for OLE design schemes, producing technical designs, layout plans, cross-sections, allocations, isolation diagrams, and supporting reports and calculations.
  • Develop OLE designs through the project life cycle, ensuring designs are delivered in line with current design standards, are constructable, and apply Safe by Design principles.
  • Collaborate with other design and construction disciplines, communicating effectively with sub-contractors.
  • Respond to design queries during the construction phase and attend site meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • BSc, BEng, or MEng degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards) and member of a professional institution.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in OLEMI and other OLE ranges, including UKMS, Series-1, Series-2, Mk3B, GEFF, Mk1, SICAT, SNCF, and UK1.
  • Familiarity with isolation diagrams and their update process.
  • Understanding of Earthing & Bonding required for electrification.
  • Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation CAD software.
  • Excellent communications and organization skills.
  • Understanding of CSM-RA & Health and Safety, including CDM, and experience of managing teams.
