Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Recruit Mint. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of our process equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment downtime and ensure factory performance goals are met.
  2. Electrical setup and production support to maintain efficient operations.
  3. Conduct thorough fault finding and repair of breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  4. Ensure a safe working environment by being aware of factory safety issues and adhering to safety protocols.
  5. Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and reduce maintenance costs.
  6. Assist in the fabrication and installation of plant and machinery under supervision.
Person Specification
  1. Hold a recognized mechanical apprenticeship (City and Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
  2. Have experience in production equipment maintenance in a diverse factory environment.
  3. Develop good diagnostic skills to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues.
  4. Have mechanical maintenance experience and be computer literate (stores systems and maintenance management systems).
Working Hours

You will start on the day shift and then move to your set shift pattern, working 1758 hours per annum. This consists of 143 rostered 12-hour and 15-minute shifts (usually between 6:45 am to 7 pm, 6:45 pm to 7 am) and one 6-hour training session.

The shift pattern is:

  1. 2 day shifts 6:45 am to 7 pm
  2. 2 night shifts 6:45 pm to 7 am
  3. 6 days off

The Company will aim to give at least 2 weeks' notice if a change to the published roster is required. Holiday entitlement is built into time off shift, so the employee cannot book days off. They can do shift swaps to create more time off.
