Position Overview

We are seeking a Sales Ledger Assistant for an 8-month fixed-term contract to support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Team. This position encompasses all facets of the sales ledger, ensuring that cash is accurately and promptly banked and recorded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all sales invoices for designated divisions within the Accounting System.
  • Daily posting of cash received via BACS and cheque, allocating as necessary.
  • Prepare bank deposits and deliver them to the bank as required.
  • Generate and process manual invoices in the system and distribute as needed.
  • Handle relevant intercompany transfer payments.
  • Complete account allocations and follow up on unallocated cash payments.
  • Manage incoming mail and emails.
  • Assist with Bank Reconciliation.
  • Perform Month-End Tasks and fulfill reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve cash-related queries.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policy.
  • Execute other ad-hoc duties as necessary.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in IT, with a basic understanding of Word and a strong command of Excel.
  • Familiarity with Sage 500 or similar accounting software.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
