Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the school premises are clean, tidy, and well-maintained at all times. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks, such as minor repairs and painting, as well as overseeing the security of the school premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the school premises are clean and well-maintained.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and painting.
  • Oversee the security of the school premises.
  • Assist with set-up and dismantling of furniture and equipment for school events.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the school grounds and facilities to identify and report maintenance issues.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling processes in accordance with school policies.
  • Support the Health and Safety Officer in maintaining a safe environment for all.
  • Liaise with contractors and external service providers as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to undertake physical tasks and lift heavy equipment when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with good time management skills.
  • Basic DIY skills and experience in general maintenance tasks.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required.
