Behavioural Teaching Assistant Required

Job Title: Behavioural Teaching Assistant

A local secondary school in Weymouth is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join the dynamic team in supporting students' social and emotional development.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of behaviour support plans developed by teachers and SENCO.
  • Offer one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting and reinforcing positive behaviour and social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to develop and review behaviour intervention strategies.
  • Monitor student behaviour and progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges.
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience to effectively support students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
