About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team in Plymouth. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people with complex needs.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for leading shifts, deputising for the Registered Manager, and ensuring that our team of Residential Care Workers are up to date with all mandatory learning and assisting with their individual development.

You will also be responsible for communicating with the on-site team, raising awareness with regards to individual care plans, and maintaining accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets, and files.

In addition, you will contribute to team and staff meetings, facilitate good communication and staff development, and provide support and care to the young people within our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead shifts and deputise for the Registered Manager as required
  • Ensure Residential Care Workers are up to date with mandatory learning and assist with individual development
  • Communicate with on-site team and raise awareness of individual care plans
  • Maintain accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets, and files
  • Contribute to team and staff meetings to facilitate good communication and staff development
  • Provide support and care to young people within our services
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a full UK driving licence and a desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent Children & Younger Peoples workforce.

12 months senior experience working in a Residential setting is highly desirable, but we also encourage applications from those at the start of their journey.

Requirements for DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
