Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ESOL Tutor to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences for learners, managing teaching and learning in line with SALS policies and practices, and contributing to the continuous development of the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake teaching duties, including initial assessments of learners, identifying individual learning needs, and referring to learning support as appropriate.
  2. Plan and deliver teaching and learning activities, including preparing course outlines, producing schemes of work and lesson plans, and ensuring there are appropriate and up-to-date course files.
  3. Monitor learner attendance and punctuality, and take appropriate action as required.
  4. Ensure the progress and achievement of learners is recognised and recorded, including marking of learners' work and providing retention and achievement information to the curriculum team leader/manager.
  5. Undertake assessment and recording of learner outcomes, including the completion of exam entry forms.
  6. Comply with safeguarding requirements, including all Health and Safety and GDPR regulations.
  7. Observe and actively promote equal opportunities policies in the classroom, syllabus, and learning materials.
  8. Ensure the security of both the classroom and any equipment borrowed or used within the classroom.
  9. Attend and contribute to course team meetings.
  10. Undertake appropriate training identified through the management process.
  11. Participate in the Service's self-assessment and development planning process.
Essential Requirements
  • ESOL teaching experience is essential.
  • ESOL tutor qualification (CELTA/Trinity TESOL/teaching qualification with ESOL specialism) is required.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) is required.
  • Knowledge and training in subject specialism (e.g. CELTA/Trinity TESOL/teaching qualification with ELT/ESOL specialism) is required.
  • Minimum L2 English and maths qualifications are required.
Additional Information

This role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The role will be based at the Thomas Calton Centre, but there will occasionally be a need to travel to offsite venues for outreach delivery and to the LBS offices at Tooley St for training and meetings.
