Assistant Tax Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Tax Manager to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd in Chesterfield. As a key member of our tax team, you will work closely with our Tax Manager to support a diverse portfolio of tax clients.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering exceptional client communications and building trusted relationships as their go-to advisor.
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients, adopting a proactive approach to handling queries.
  • Assisting with complex tax computations across Corporation Tax, Personal Tax, and for Partnerships and Trusts.
  • Reviewing efficiencies and recommending new processes to improve workflow.
  • Supporting the strategic direction of the tax function, scoping new service lines for clients and nurturing a network of prospects.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 to £50,000 per annum, along with a range of benefits including hybrid working options, pension contribution, and generous holiday allowance.

Requirements:

  • Qualified with varied tax experience within practice.
  • Previous supervisory experience, with a supportive manner.
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge.
  • Strong leadership skills with a natural ability to inspire those around you.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound organisation skills.
