We are seeking a skilled Public Health Data Technician Apprentice to join our Public Health Intelligence team at Devon County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the transition of public health data from local servers to Microsoft Azure and contributing to the development and implementation of efficient data flows from Microsoft Azure to various Power BI dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Public Health Intelligence team on specific health, public health, communities, and care projects to influence action from across the system to improve population health and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient data flows from Microsoft Azure to various Power BI dashboards.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and address data quality issues and implement data governance best practices.
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations and reports to support decision-making and inform policy development.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide data-driven insights to support their work.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI, with experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with flexibility to work from home or in the office as needed.
