Job Opportunity: Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support our Welsh medium secondary school in the Swansea region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with additional learning needs, including autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and profound and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents in Welsh, promoting a bilingual learning experience.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to the school's policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to identify and address individual student needs, promoting academic and personal growth.

About the Role:

This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent in the future. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with additional learning needs and a commitment to promoting Welsh language and culture.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and training for the role.
  • Experience of working with secondary school age children and supporting students with additional learning needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Welsh and English.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
