Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Malaberg. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety standards that protect our employees and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and monitor health and safety policies and programs to ensure a safe workplace according to legal guidelines and best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures to minimize hazards.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions on health and safety practices and regulations for staff.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims.
  • Participate in continuing education to update knowledge of health and safety protocols and techniques.
  • Assist with other operational administrative tasks as needed to support the overall efficiency of the facility.
Requirements:
  • Aspiring health and safety professional with up to one year of experience or newly certified.
  • Hold a NEBOSH certification or be in the process of certification, demonstrating foundational knowledge and commitment to health and safety practices.
  • Keen interest in learning and growing within the field, with a proactive attitude towards enhancing workplace safety.
  • Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
