About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at SPE Travelers Management, LTD. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting and assessing risk to maximize business growth and profitability for allocated broker panels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and assess risk to maximize business growth and profitability for allocated broker panels.
  • Make sound underwriting decisions, supporting Branch in consistently achieving financial plans through superior service, business retention, and responsiveness to new business submissions.
  • Interact and collaborate with the Manchester and Leeds teams, Regional Underwriting Offices, Market Segment Colleagues, and other critical internal/external business associates.
  • Deliver a service delivery to brokers and clients in accordance with Travelers standards.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to more inexperienced individuals within the team to help foster a successful and driven team ethos.

Requirements

  • Degree education preferred.
  • Proven experience in underwriting.
  • General knowledge of the local insurance marketplace.
  • Thorough knowledge of organizational and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures.
  • General knowledge of technical underwriting.
  • Advanced knowledge and ability required in respect of analytical thinking, judgment, decision making, communication, and strong team work.
