About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate IRIS Advocate Educator to join our team at Black Country Women's Aid. As a key member of our Community Domestic Violence and Abuse Support Service, you will play a vital role in supporting victims of domestic violence and abuse in Sandwell, Dudley, Wolverhampton, and Walsall.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver IRIS education and advocacy services to clients, providing a safe and non-judgmental space for them to share their experiences.
  • Work in partnership with other services within BCWA and key agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to domestic violence and abuse.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including GPs, social services, and other community organizations.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of our services.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of working with vulnerable adults and children in a domestic abuse context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and communities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of our clients.
