About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team at Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Specialist, you will play a key role in providing clinical specialist support to our SLT Learning Disability and Mental Health service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical supervision and support to SLT team members
  • Lead joint complex case work with band 5 and 6 SLTs and delegate work to other SLT team members
  • Provide assessment, advice, and intervention to other Trust areas, including inpatient units
  • Contribute to the development of the SLT service, including quality improvement activities and clinical governance

Requirements:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Masters in a relevant subject (or willingness to undertake within agreed timescale)
  • Registration with HCPC
  • Recognised qualifications in specialist areas relevant to the role
  • Clinical Supervisory Skills course
  • Trust training in Appraisal and Recruitment
  • Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ level 2
  • Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
