About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the governance of a not-for-profit provider for affordable homes based in the North East. The organisation owns over 300 homes for affordable rent, rent to buy and shared ownership, and has aspirations to develop more homes for affordable use within the region.

As a Trustee, you will be responsible for governing the organisation and directing how it is managed and run. Your priorities will focus on delivering an excellent service to customers, providing quality affordable homes, and ensuring the organisation remains financially strong and well governed.

About you:

We are looking for individuals with knowledge and experience of one or more of the following areas:

  • Customer regulation, public/community relations, and community development.

Key responsibilities:

• Governing the organisation and directing how it is managed and run

• Delivering an excellent service to customers

• Providing quality affordable homes

• Ensuring the organisation remains financially strong and well governed

Time commitment:

Board meetings take place four times a year and can be attended virtually via teams or in person. There is one strategy planning day a year which must be attended in person.

Location:

The role is based in the North East.

Salary:

This is a voluntary role, however reasonable expenses will be paid.
