Job Title: Area Director

Cryer Baker Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Area Director to lead the local deployment of our Commercial Lines strategy and drive portable growth by focusing on Sales and Service Capability, Customer Service Excellence, Underwriting Strategy, and Broker Development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for all business traded through the Branch brokers, including profitability, sales, and servicing of new business managed in Branch and renewals serviced through SME Trading Centres.
  • Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including all key customers and networks to deliver strategy and increase business opportunities for the Branch and SME Trading Centre.
  • Develop, lead, and deliver local strategy, to align with overall company strategy, to include setting challenging targets for the Branches and SME Trading Centre and monitoring performance against targets, costs, and budget.
  • Maximise profitability by driving underwriting strategy with support from Branch and SME Trading Centre Underwriting Managers and the Technical Centre team, maximising use of trading flexibility, full empowerment, and adherence to underwriting protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Working with the wider branch network and SME Trading Centres, ensure that the Branch runs efficiently with resources adequately skilled and deployed appropriately to meet business needs.
  • Accountable for ensuring that the Branch is compliant with all regulatory and legislative requirements including compliance with internal governance and control.
