Ambitious Data Engineer Wanted for Cloud Data Solutions

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer to join our team at Amber Labs, a cutting-edge UK and European technology consultancy. As a key member of our team, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines and solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using AWS services like AWS Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Redshift, and S3.
  • Data Integration: Develop ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from diverse sources into centralized data lakes and warehouses.
  • Data Modeling & Storage: Implement optimized data storage solutions using Amazon Redshift, DynamoDB, S3, and other AWS storage services.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Build and manage the cloud infrastructure required to support data workloads using EC2, ECS, RDS, and VPC.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve data pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure all data architectures meet security standards and compliance requirements, especially in environments handling sensitive and classified data.
  • Automation: Implement automation in data workflows using AWS tools like CloudFormation, CodePipeline, or Terraform.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders to define data strategies and ensure the delivery of secure, robust solutions.
Requirements:
  • Active DV Clearance (Mandatory).
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on AWS technologies.
  • Expertise with AWS services, including S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, RDS, EC2, and Athena.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, or Scala for data manipulation and transformation.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and data warehousing in AWS environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools like AWS CodePipeline and CodeDeploy.
  • Understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
