Job Title: Residential Support Specialist

About the Role:

  • Provide day-to-day care and support to young people in a residential setting, promoting their emotional, physical, and social well-being.
  • Assist with developing and implementing personalised care plans, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Support young people in building life skills, such as independence, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Foster positive relationships with young people, helping to build trust and promote their well-being.
  • Support young people with education, hobbies, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report any concerns or incidents in line with safeguarding procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for young people.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a residential care setting.
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to promoting the well-being of young people.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with young people.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £12.50 per hour, plus benefits including opportunities for professional development and a supportive work environment.
