Job Description

This role is for an experienced Renewable Energy Grid Connection Manager who will oversee the grid connection process for multiple renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the GB grid connection process, including grid codes and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grid Connection Due Diligence: Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to assess potential asset acquisitions, identifying associated risks and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies, and supporting the valuation of assets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain active engagement with grid connection stakeholders throughout all phases of project development, from early stages through to construction and operation.
  • Project Timelines: Ensure that grid connection activities align with project timelines by working closely with EPC, Project Delivery, and Development teams, as well as project partners.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with Asset Management to ensure ongoing compliance with grid connection agreements, assist in the coordination of grid maintenance activities, and align project maintenance schedules with power hedging strategies.
Requirements
  • GB Grid Connection Expertise: Deep knowledge of the GB grid connection process, including grid codes and technical standards.
  • Project Management: Strong project management capabilities, including expertise in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Renewable Energy Sector: A proven background in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on project development (at least 5-10 years of experience).
  • Degree-Level Qualification: Relevant degree-level qualification and strong analytical skills to navigate commercial and regulatory challenges in grid connection projects.
  • Power Systems Understanding: An understanding of power systems, including network planning, electrical design, load flow analysis, and fault level calculations.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include a comprehensive pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, and opportunities for professional development.
