About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Team Leader to join our team at Leeds City Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the provision of a high-quality catering service with excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely preparation and service of meals that meet high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Effective leadership within the kitchen, supervising staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of the catering service.
- Maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and servery areas.
- Training and development of staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Monitoring and controlling food costs, ensuring they are within budget and meeting financial targets.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and other relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a catering or hospitality environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and targets while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Ability to work flexibly, including working in school holidays and other non-standard working hours.
