Public Health Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse Specialist to join our Transformation Unit in Liverpool, UK. The successful candidate will work on a fixed-term contract for 12 months, with a salary range of £37,338 - £44,962 per annum, pro rata.
Job OverviewThe role involves supporting the team leader and clinical lead for TB community nursing, providing a comprehensive Pan Mersey TB service encompassing disease control, care, and prevention. The team adopts a multi-disciplinary approach, maintaining close links to all relevant hospitals, community agencies, and Public Health England.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge, skills, and expertise in TB nursing, experience of working with vulnerable groups, and excellent communication skills. They will be able to travel across Merseyside to undertake home visits and deliver clinics.

Detailed Job Description- Maintain a TB Database detailing TB patients' treatment, disease pattern, location, and outcome, requiring close liaison with the hospital service.
- Follow cases out of hospital, ensuring patients take their medication as directed, monitoring for any side effects, and liaising with the TB specialist nurse team leader and treating physicians when necessary.
- Identify patients at risk of non-concordance with medication and initiate strategies to promote adherence, involving appropriate agencies.
- Screen close contacts of index cases, inviting them to clinic for screening, promoting HIV testing, and performing Tuberculin tests at home, hospital, and clinic.
