About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our healthcare team at HMP Stafford, a category C prison in Staffordshire.

Job Description:
  • Deliver high-quality healthcare to a diverse group of patients, providing opportunities to develop knowledge in areas not typically encountered in general practice or A&E environments.
  • Provide specialist resources to other members of the healthcare team and patients, with active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

The role offers a part-time position with 8 hours per week, 2 sessions, which can be worked on a Friday or split between a Friday morning and another morning between Monday-Thursday. The salary for this role is up to £62,500 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK and undergo additional vetting and security checks due to the nature of the role.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • MBChB or MBBS qualification
  • Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
  • Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
  • Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
  • RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
