The Role
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Direct Investments team in Europe as an AVP. The close-knit team currently comprises 14 investment professionals based in London.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work predominantly as part of small deal teams to source, evaluate, and execute direct investments in private companies across a range of sectors and geographies. This includes:
- Modelling and valuation;
- Commercial and financial due diligence;
- Preparing and presenting materials to the Investment Committee;
- Establishing relationships with counterparties;
- Maintaining relationships with existing investee companies;
- Monitoring certain of GIC's investments; and
- Taking part in ad-hoc projects such as global sector reviews, market mapping of specific sub-sectors, and strategic reviews.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4-6 years of work experience, with relevant transaction history at a leading principal investing firm / private equity fund;
- Educated to post-graduate / graduate level;
- A strong track record of performance, success, and impact at current employer;
- Self-starting abilities and ability to operate in a less structured environment;
- Very strong commercial judgment and a passion for understanding what drives business quality and value;
- The ability to develop and defend an investment point of view;
- Proven skills and experience in commercial, financial, and valuation analysis;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- European language skills would be a plus.
Salary & Benefits
This role comes with an estimated salary of £120,000 per annum, plus benefits including a hybrid working model, flexible vacation time, and opportunities for career growth and development.
