Job Title: Community Engagement Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at Platform Housing Group. In this role, you will work closely with customers to build strong and safe communities, organizing and developing a wide range of community engagement activities and projects.

As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for establishing contact with individuals and groups from all sections of the community through meetings and outreach work, identifying local issues, and working together on solutions. You will also be responsible for supporting and managing community-based programs to promote a healthy and happy environment for all our customers.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a community-based role or a role directly involved in supporting projects and programs designed to help people and communities grow. You will be a people person with excellent communication skills, able to work with our customers and external stakeholders. You will also understand some of the unique challenges faced within social housing and be familiar with our beliefs and values as an organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing community engagement strategies to promote customer and community well-being
  • Building relationships with customers, local authorities, and community partners to identify and address community needs
  • Organizing and delivering community-based programs and activities to promote community engagement and social inclusion
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver community-focused projects and initiatives
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of community engagement activities and programs

This is a part-time role working 17.5 hours per week, with the opportunity to work from home and travel to communities within the patch. The successful candidate will have a full UK driving license and be able to travel regularly. Business mileage expenses will be reimbursed in line with HMRC mileage rates.
