About the Role:

We are seeking a Counselling Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team in an alternative provision setting in Preston.

The ideal candidate will have a BA Hons degree in Psychology and relevant experience working with children or young people.

Responsibilities:
  • Support small groups of children with SEMH needs
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement learning plans
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and provide emotional support when needed
Requirements:
  1. BA Hons degree in Psychology
  2. Enhanced DBS (clean and relevant) - Can be obtained through Prospero Teaching
  3. Safeguarding, prevent awareness & FGM training - essential
  4. Behaviour management training - desirable
  5. A committed and enthusiastic attitude to work
  6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to form new relationships
  7. Previous experience working with young people
  8. Good knowledge of SEMH needs
